The name sounds familiar, yet slightly irritating: Milk+. Familiar from where? Maybe from the Korova bar, where one could order Milk Plus, also known as Moloko? Burgess, anyone? Possibly, yes – but first and foremost the name represents one of Austria’s most consequent, impulsive and innovative bands around the sphere of electrified guitars. Combining Progressive, Alternative and Jazz in a vibrant and eclectic, yet homogenous way, the band’s dynamical range of composition and performance is best described by one single adjective: unique.
Delphic the title of their new EP: „Venus Breakdown“.
The four songs on „Venus Breakdown“ represent a first glimpse of what’s to come in early 2013: produced by none other than Ikey Owens (The Mars Volta, Free Moral Agents) the band releases its sophomore effort. „Band On Wire“ will be the title of the band’s new record, a concept album, featuring Owens also on keyboards.
Extensive but not overflowing, heady and complex but never for the sake of mainstream-refusal. The complexity of the bands‘ composition mainly serves one artistic aim: to challenge and question common listening habits as well as to deconstruct rigid thinking- and listening patterns.
Milk+ are:
